Airline Pilot Club (APC) is excited to announce its continued partnership with Avianca Group International Limited (Avianca) to enhance its flight training and recruitment processes. Together, they aim to introduce in the region an end-to-end approach to recruitment, training, and long-term development.

Transforming Pilot Recruitment: APC's Strategic Approach

By leveraging APC’s Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, AI technology and airline industry experience, this partnership will provide aviation professionals with an enhanced recruitment experience that goes beyond traditional methods. The focus is on building a resilient pilot body and driving sustainable growth, while addressing challenges such as sustainability, diversity, and profitability.

Innovative Pilot Selection for Avianca's A320 Fleet

The partnership focuses on the following areas:

1. Recruiting new type-rated pilots: APC has assessed and selected new type rated and experienced airline pilots for Avianca’s A320 fleet.

2. Recruiting cadets for Avianca’s A320 type-rating training: APC is screening, assessing, and recommending newly qualified co-pilots for Avianca’s A320 type rating course.

3. Determining Future Avianca Pilots’ Profile: APC has collaborated with Avianca to define the personal and technical profile requirements for their future pilots.

4. Selecting New Avianca Instructors: APC has assessed and recommended Type Rating Instructors to Avianca Airlines using a data-driven process.

5. Assessing Avianca’s Flight Training Process and Structure: APC and Avianca’s Flight Training Department are conducting a thorough review of Avianca’s flight training process, ensuring standards on a par with industry best practices to enhance training quality and safety.

6. Assessing ATOs in Colombia: APC and Avianca aim to optimise cadets’ transition to Avianca.

Collaborative Efforts in Defining Future Avianca Pilots' Profile

“We believe it’s time for the aviation industry to adopt an end-to-end approach to pilot recruitment and training,” said Captain Andy O'Shea, CEO of Airline Pilot Club. “Our partnership with Avianca demonstrates our commitment to driving real change in the industry. By combining our proven smart recruitment technology with AI, we can foster sustainability, diversity, and empower all stakeholders in this dynamic field.”
