The Airline Pilot Club (APC) and Fantasy Wings announces partnership
Airline Pilot Club and Fantasy Wings combine to enable young people from diverse backgrounds to access opportunities and upskilling on their journey to become Airline Pilots
APC and Fantasy Wings have today announced the launch of a partnership that is aimed at providing aspiring airline pilots with professional guidance and high-quality training as they move along their route to the airline pilot career. APC, founded by former Ryanair Head of Training, Andy O’Shea and Mentour Pilot, Captain Petter Hornfeldt, has established a free 4-step process that guides prospective students and their families through all the key issues associated with becoming an airline pilot.
APC’s free registration and unique process provides APC members with access to online pilot psychometric assessments. APC’s Preparation Zone provides online assessments and training to prepare students for AON and Symbiotics assessments, the most widely used assessment systems in the world.
Fantasy Wings is a community whose goal is to give Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people and women a platform to enter and excel in the aviation industry or become commercial airline pilots through expert-led workshops, conferences, mentoring and real flight training.
Fantasy Wings was founded by Jackson Smith in 2019 following the success of the Fantasy Mentoring programme. As a young Black man who battled adversity en-route to gaining his own Pilot’s Licence and a degree in Aviation, he was determined to make it easier for other young Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people and women to access the same opportunities he fought to get.
Commenting on the announcement, APC founder and CEO, Captain Andy O’Shea said “We are very pleased to announce the launch of our partnership with Fantasy Wings. APC has always placed a high priority on breaking down barriers to entry into this great career. Our recently launched Diversity initiative (“See It to Be It”) was a first step towards motivating people from every background to become curious and enter the airline pilot career.
We are excited to work with Jackson Smith and the Fantasy Wings team to share our resources and to open the career to as many people as possible. Fantasy Wings has created a great process to attract people from every background and get them started in the career.
Fantasy Wing’s founder Jackson Smith said “We are very happy to announce our new partnership today with Airline Pilot Club. This provides a unique opportunity for Fantasy Wings participants to access assessment, training and development that will only serve to increase their employability in the future. The APC platform is a great platform for aspiring pilots and we look forward to our organisations working together to increase opportunities.
