Recapping APC's September Webinars: Insights, Collaboration, and Learning Opportunities

September was a month filled with exciting webinars hosted by the Airline Pilot Club (APC). These online events brought together aviation enthusiasts, aspiring pilots, and industry professionals to explore various facets of the aviation world. From partnership insights to career advice, each webinar offered a unique perspective on the journey to becoming a successful airline pilot. Let’s recap some of the highlights from APC's September webinars!

Aero Locarno Webinar (September 11th): Navigating the APC Mentored ATPL Program

Our first webinar in September featured APC's partner, Aero Locarno. Our community had the  chance to delve into the APC Mentored ATPL program, powered by Aero Locarno. This program is designed to turn aspiring pilots into skilled professionals who are ready to navigate the skies with confidence. During the webinar, we explored the program's unique advantages, including expert mentorship from Captain Andy O'Shea, who has over 28 years of aviation experience. It was a brilliant opportunity to learn more about this transformative program and how it can shape their aviation careers.

Green Flight Academy & Mentour Pilot Webinar (September 12th): Sustainable Aviation Training

We thought that this webinar would be a fantastic opportunity to introduce the APC Community to our latest Flight School Partner Green Flight Academy! Green Flight Academy, based in Sweden, specialises in sustainable aviation training practices and we wanted this webinar to give insights into their innovative approach to flight training. Captain Petter Hörnfeldt, Mentour Pilot and a long-time friend of APC, shared his experiences during the APC Quality Assurance review at Green Flight Academy.  One of the reasons why APC is so excited about partnering with Green Flight Academy is because of their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of pilot training, making it one of the most environmentally friendly ways to become a pilot.

Fantasy Wings Webinar (September 19th): Championing Diversity in Aviation

This was our first webinar with Fantasy Wings, a dedicated partner organisation that champions aviation careers among Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities in the UK. Jackson Smith, a leading figure in Fantasy Wings, introduced us to their incredible mission. We also had the privilege of hearing from APC's founder, Andy O'Shea, who shared how APC's free resources can prepare individuals for opportunities like the prestigious British Airways cadetship.

Ryanair Ground Operations Webinar (September 26th): Behind-the-Scenes Insights

Our final webinar of the month focused on Ryanair's Ground Operations. Greta Egan, a shift leader in the Ryanair Dublin Ground Operations (GOPS) team, provided valuable insights into how Ryanair ensures its 3,500 daily flights across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East depart and arrive on time. As a qualified pilot and APC member, Greta shared her experiences and explained how pilots collaborate with GOPS colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

We're thrilled you joined us, and this is just the beginning. APC is all about learning, teamwork, and helping you become a pilot. Keep an eye out for more webinars and events - they'll open new horizons in aviation.

And don’t worry! If you missed any of these sessions you can catch up now on APC TV!
