Sky Alps and Aero Locarno Propel Aspiring Pilots to New Heights

In a strategic collaboration, Sky Alps and Aero Locarno are set to reshape the trajectory of pilot training with the introduction of an advanced Multi Pilot Licence (MPL) program. This partnership aims to deliver unprecedented competence and employment prospects for aspiring aviators.

Elevating Pilot Training Standards

The 16-month program promises a dual qualification, combining an MPL integrated with the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) on single-engine instrument aircraft (SEP IR) at Aero Locarno SA. Further, participants will undergo a Type Rating on the Dash 8 Q400, securing a permanent First Officer position with Sky Alps upon successful completion.

Targeting Passionate Aviators

This revolutionary program is tailored for individuals with a fervent passion for aviation and an aptitude for learning.

Comprehensive Curriculum

The curriculum integrates essential Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) subjects along with intensive Type rating on the Dash8-Q400. Participants will clock around 240 flight/simulator hours, including dual command scenarios and pilot in command experiences, all conducted in cutting-edge glass cockpit aircraft.

Key Players in the Partnership

Sky Alps and Aero Locarno, both renowned entities in the aviation industry, are the driving forces behind this innovative initiative.

Duration and Logistics

The 16-month course strikes a balance between theoretical and practical training. Flight activities are scheduled at Cuneo Airport and Locarno, with the Dash8-Q400 Type Rating sessions held in Wien or Stockholm.

Commencement Dates

With two annual courses, starting in January and October, aspiring pilots have flexibility in choosing their entry point into this transformative program.

Financial Support for Aspirants

The financial aspect is structured around three main components: Licence acquisition costs, Type rating expenses, and accommodation charges. Financing options, including the BNL 'honour loan' model, are available to support candidates through a significant part of the training journey.

Streamlined Enrolment Process

The enrolment process entails an initial expression of interest, followed by a telephone interview, selection through the AON method, funding discussions, contract signing, course planning, and ultimately, course initiation.
