REGISTER YOUR DETAILS WITH APC
The first step you need to take in order to avail of the many benefits of the Airline Pilot Club (APC) is to register your details with APC. This is free, and will enable APC to give you access to the Indicative Assessment (IA). The reason we will need your details is because your result in the Indicative Assessment will have to go through us and be stored against your user data. You will need to agree to APC having access to this as part of current GDPR rules in Europe and APC will use this confidential information in order to help you improve in the areas indicated by the IA as well as in future interactions with partner ATO’s.
By registering, you will be given discounts on pilot materials, purchased through our partner, Pooley’s, and you will be able to access into the area where you can buy the Indicative Assessment and REALLY start your journey to becoming an airline pilot. You will have an opportunity to become a full APC member in Step 3.
COMPLETE THE INDICATIVE ASSESSMENT
This is the natural second step after having registered your details with APC. After you have purchased the Assessment, you will be able to complete it in the comfort of your own home. The only thing you will need is a device and an internet connection.
We also encourage you to be well rested, having eaten well and having access to a calm area to complete the assessment without interruptions. The Indicative Assessment is a unique product created by AON Assessments exclusively for the Airline Pilot Club and its sole purpose is to indicate where you might need help to achieve the aptitude and personality traits needed to give you maximum chances of being successful in your pilot training.
If you get a READY result straight away, Congratulations! Even with this great result, we recommend that you join the Club in order to give yourself the best possible preparation for your ATO/Airline interview. Once you have completed the assessment you can expect the result to be available within weeks.
BECOME FULL APC MEMBER – AVAIL OF SUPPORT TO IMPROVE AREAS AS INDICATED BY THE IA
After you have received the result from the Indicative Assessment, it is likely that you will have some areas you want to improve on, even if you get a Ready result. This is where full membership of APC will be an incredible asset. We will work together to put in place your development plan to help you improve in the areas indicated by the Indicative Assessment.
As a full member you will get access to even bigger discounts with Pooley’s, free English language courses, a personalised dashboard where together we can create plans to improve your performance if required, as well as live-streams with industry experts. We will also offer member-discounts on flying and simulator time with our partner ATO’s.
There will be a separate “members only” discord server where you can talk to other students and gain tips and experience from other members who are ahead of you in the training process. We will create bespoke videos about commercial aviation topics that will prepare you for your airline pilot career. We will be looking for ideas from YOU about areas that you think we need to provide material and guidance.
The membership benefits will grow as the club grows and we would love to hear from you about what other benefits you would like us to work on.
INTRODUCTION TO APC PARTNER ATO’S
When the above steps have been completed and you have an APC Ready Certificate from the Indicative Assessment you will be able to apply to an APC partner ATO. We will only work with flying schools that have been subjected to our APC evaluation procedures and, because of that, you can feel confident that you will get the best possible training there.
The list of partner ATO’s will grow with time as more and more schools get evaluated by our team. You will have to go through the full ATO AON Assessment program before you are finally accepted into the school but APC members will receive preferential access to these screenings if there is a lot of demand for entry.
This is one of the biggest strengths with the APC system since it takes away the pressure from you to evaluate the schools so you can concentrate on preparing for your pilot training instead.
IF YOU ARE AN APC FULL MEMBER, GET ACCESS TO AON INSURANCE PRODUCTS
If you are a full APC member, have gone through the whole APC approved evaluation system, including AON Assessments, you will now get access to APC-exclusive insurance products. These insurance policies have been created to provide coverage for you in case you would suffer certain kinds of physical/mental difficulty during your training. This payment continuance will add a layer of financial protection for you and your family when you start this journey. After you qualify, you can turn it into a Loss of Licence policy, which no professional pilot should be without. After you get your Airline Pilot career going, you can take out a loss of earnings policy. All these policies will be available to you as an APC member. The combination of these policies will make your application for a loan more acceptable to a bank
VERIFY MEDICAL SUITABILITY AND SECURE FUNDING
Since you have now received your “READY” score on the Indicative Assessment, it is time to get your Class One Medical Certificate secured. This is done at an Aeromedical Centre in the country you are situated in.
You can anticipate that it will take one day of tests for your initial Class One medical. When you know that you are medically qualified, the funding for your training will have to be secured.
Different funding options will be presented in cooperation with APC partnership schools. As I said earlier, our insurance policies will be of great assistance to you when you approach a bank and are looking for a loan.
Unfortunately, APC are NOT able to provide unsecured funding at the moment due to the current market situation but discussions with international banks and airlines are still on going. We are hoping for a breakthrough in this area during the coming years.
COMMENCE AIRLINE PILOT TRAINING
This is where the adventure really starts for you. Integrated training normally takes between 18-24 months and will include intense theoretical studies as well as flying and certification. You will receive details about the course layout from the ATO you have chosen to use.
APC will figure in the background through monthly live-streams via the APC website. We will work to connect you with other APC members who are further ahead in the training to avail of their experience and knowledge. This will be done through forums and an APC member exclusive discord server.
START YOUR AIRLINE CAREER
We are working on establishing partner airlines that will give successful APC graduates access to interviews and thereafter, employment.
Given the current industry situation, we are still working on securing this feature. Partner airlines and details will be announced.
