The annual conference organised by Fantasy Wings in London proved to be a remarkable event that left a lasting impact on attendees and presenters. The conference brought together aspiring pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and industry professionals to celebrate and promote the exciting world of aviation careers. The standard of presentation by Fantasy Wings alumni was superb and belied their relative inexperience in presenting to hundreds of people. Well done everyone!

The conference resonated with passion and dedication as young faces filled the venue, eager to learn and explore the possibilities of a career in aviation. The enthusiasm and energy were palpable, as attendees embarked on a journey to discover what it takes to become a part of the aviation community. Fantasy Wings successfully nurtured this dream, fostering a sense of purpose among aspiring pilots.

One of the highlights of the conference was the presence of industry leaders who generously shared their expertise and experiences. British Airways, Easy Jet, NATs, and Virgin Atlantic graced the stage, delivering compelling talks that shed light on the diverse pathways available within the aviation industry. Attendees were captivated by the speakers' first-hand accounts, gaining invaluable insights into the requirements and challenges of pursuing careers as pilots, air traffic controllers, and engineers.

 

Pathways to Success

The talks focused on the multifaceted nature of aviation careers, emphasising that there are numerous pathways to success. British Airways showcased the journey of their pilots, highlighting the rigorous training programs and dedication required to excel in the cockpit. Easy Jet shared their commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive pilot community, encouraging aspiring pilots from all backgrounds to pursue their dreams fearlessly. NATs offered an in-depth look into the world of air traffic control, emphasizing the critical role these professionals play in ensuring safe and efficient air travel. Virgin Atlantic shared inspiring stories of their engineers, showcasing the innovative work they do to keep aircraft soaring through the skies.

 

Andy was honoured to be asked to speak at the conference. He praised the Fantasy Wings team, and Jackson Smith in particular, for the Conference and the whole Fantasy Wings initiative. Andy introduced many parents and Fantasy Wings members to the free benefits of registering with APC. Andy must have been on fire because registrations in APC have shot up since Saturday!

 

Celebrating Achievements

The conference also served as a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of dedicated individuals who received their certifications. It was a proud moment for Fantasy Wings, APC, and all attendees as they witnessed the recognition and validation of hard work and commitment.
